What is Spilltration^® Husky Technology? The Spilltation^® Husky family of products are engineered with an innovative filtration and absorption technology that captures oil and sediment while filtering out clean rainwater. This technology grew out of an unmet need for tools to help frontline workers better manage oil and petroleum leaks and spills in wet weather conditions.

Spilltration^® Husky Products can be used in both wet and dry conditions as a Stormwater Best Management Practice. They capture persistent oil leaks and drips from outdoor equipment, machinery, piping, and valves so that you don’t have to spend hours digging out contaminated soil or paying to have concrete and asphalt cleaned.

They’re also ideal for facilities that need to prevent oil sheens from being discharged so that they stay in compliance with SPCC rules. And because more than 70% of accidental oil and petroleum spills happen outdoors in the rain, Spilltration^® Products are optimized to capture oil and petroleum spills as well as fine sheens, to reduce spill-related wastes and the reliance on chemical dispersants for final cleanup.

Spilltration^® Husky products act like a sponge that soaks in both oil products and rainwater. Husky fibers capture and hold onto oil products while clean rainwater filters through the air spaces between each fiber. In dry conditions, Husky fibers quickly absorb oil and petroleum products and get into uneven areas to capture sheens that traditional polypropylene absorbents leave behind.

We’ve tested them through rain, shine, sun, and snow – and we guarantee that they’ll maintain their strength, absorption, and durability for up to two years in all weather conditions, without releasing any of the oil they’ve absorbed.

Spilltration^® Products can be vacuum- and pressure-packed to save space in vehicles and storage areas, so frontline workers don’t have to sacrifice a lot of storage space to be prepared for leaks and spills. This compact packaging also helps save on shipping costs because you’re not paying to ship empty air space.

Poly-backed Husky Products are formulated for extended outdoor use applications. They have the same technology and features as Husky Products, with an added poly backing that prevents oil and petroleum from bleeding through, so you won’t have to clean up the shale or soil underneath.
