Description
THE PROBLEM: Oily stormwater buildup inside of portable secondary containment.
A universal problem with portable secondary containment systems is stormwater buildup inside the berm. Manually draining accumulated stormwater takes time or involves calling in an expensive vac truck.
To compound the problem, most portable berms have a ‘bulkhead fitting’ on one sidewall of the berm. Unfortunately, that fitting is mounted about 2″ above the berm floor. So, even when you open the drain valve, you’re stuck with a couple of inches of water inside. It’s a sloppy breeding ground for insects in warm weather and an ice rink in the winter.
OUR SOLUTION: The HardyBerm Spill Berm with the Drainiac® Snoutlet.
Listening to our client’s frustrations, we went to work on developing the new HardyBerm with a Drainiac® Snoutlet that allows water to drain and be filtered all the way to the floor level.
- The Snoutlet allows water to drain completely to the floor.
- A Drainiac® Petroleum Filter Valve connects to the Snoutlet and filters sheen from stormwater.
- The Prefilter System prevents the Drainiac® Filter Valve from clogging with debris and sediment.
- The outlet duct is long enough to extend a few feet beyond the berm wall. This enables the operator to position the drain for optimum gravity draining below the level of the berm’s floor.
HardyBerm Pop-Up Containment Features:
- Triangular stays create a sturdy sidewall and are welded in place, leaving no loose parts that can be lost.
- Folds up for compact storage and transport.
- Durable XR material has high chemical resistance and prevents tears and punctures.
- Great containment for drums, IBCs, light plants, generators, equipment, machinery and vehicles.
