Water-Gate™ Instant Underflow Dam
I’ve been in spill cleanup for 15 years and I’ve never seen a product that works as well as the Water-Gate Underflow Dam. It’s amazing.
The Sandbag Alternative
Traditionally, when a spill reached a ditch or stream, responders often needed to build a traditional underflow dam. Typically this consisted of a lot of sandbags and dirt, pipes, and significant manpower. In addition, the time it would take to construct meant that crews had to get far enough ahead of the spill to have enough time to build the dam before the spill spread further downstream.
The Water-Gate Instant Underflow Dam solves all of these problems and gives responders a simple and effective tool to rapidly dam up streams, small rivers, and ditches.
One 28” H by 25’ L Water-Gate Underflow Dam is the equivalent of 550 sandbags.
Flexible material adapts to contours and obstacles in most stream bottoms.
Weighs less than 50 pounds, can be carried by a single person and deployed in minutes.
Tear down is a breeze and it can be washed and reused multiple times.
Easy to Use!
The Water-Gate Instant Underflow Dam can be installed on most surfaces and is suitable for all types of spills, whether major or minor. No special equipment. No filling with water or inflating with air. No anchoring.
Easy to open and close underflow holes prevent oil from overtopping the dam and allow clean water to continue downstream.
No anchoring is needed – use the weight of the water as it flows into the dam to weigh it down to the stream bottom.
Use with containment boom to slow the flow and divert oil and fuel to a collection area.
Multiple units can be attached together to make whatever length you need.

When Troy Beaver told me that a rolled-up piece of yellow plastic could prevent an oil spill from spreading down a stream, I was skeptical at best. But, having the Water-Gate Instant Underflow Dam in our arsenal allowed us to show up on-site, assess the impact, and stop the flow of oil downstream within 10 minutes.
Get Your Team Trained
One of the major problems with having great tools to do the job is the fact that those deploying them don’t know how to use them properly. In order to prevent that, we help train both your internal team members as well as your spill clean-up contractors.
Be confident that you will have the proper tools, techniques and training, so that you can stop spills before they spread. To learn more about our training call us today at 814-822-2004.
